Unsure whether to choose a vocational or academic path? There's no need to make a choice - opt for cooperative studying in Rhineland-Palatinate instead!
Year in year out, high school graduates with university (of applied sciences) entrance qualification face this same difficult decision! And both pathways of entering professional life have their plus points.
- Choosing vocational education means no more theory! Rather, you can gain first-hand experience whilst earning your very own wage and becoming independent. What's more, companies often promise to hire you at the end of the process, so you have a guaranteed job.
- Opt for the academic route, on the other hand, and you'll gain theoretical knowledge and specialist skills. There are often better opportunities in terms of wages and promotions after you graduate and you may enjoy a higher status. It's no secret that studying is fun and you'll also have the freedom to take part in activities unrelated to your subject area.
But wait - why make a choice when you can have the best of both worlds? Cooperative studying incorporates all the pros of academic and vocational studies, without any of the cons!
Cooperative studying involves a mixture of practical modules, where the student will either complete vocational training or professional practice, and academic modules undertaken at the university. Students get the chance to immediately put what they have learnt into practice and then take part in theory sessions to resolve any issues arising during their practical work - it's the perfect synergy of educational content!
Upon completion of this training-integrated programme, the student will leave with two qualifications: a university Bachelor's degree and a vocational qualification.
